Well Child
Policy
If your child is not feeling
well, for any reason, you will need to find
alternate care. Please do not bring your
child if he/she has a contagious illness or
exhibits any of the following symptoms:
*Fever of 101.0 degrees or
above
*Vomiting, in excess of
typical infant spit-ups
*Diarrhea consisting of two
or more watery stools or two or more stools
that a diaper cannot contain within a 24hr
period.
*Conjunctivitis (pink eye),
crusting, drainage, or redness of the eye
*Bleeding other than minor
cuts and scrapes
*Greenish nasal discharge,
indicating possible infection
*Head lice or scabies
*Skin rash other than diaper
rash or prickly heat. (To return the child
to care, you must provide a written
statement from a doctor saying that the
child does not have a communicable disease.)
*Persistent coughing that
interferes with normal daily activities
*Cough that produces phlegm
that must be expelled
*Continuous nasal drainage
*Cough, sneezing, runny nose
with a temperature of 100.00 or higher
*Chicken pox (The child may
return when all the blisters have dried and
formed scabs, usually about 6 days after the
onset of the rash.)
*Communicable disease (flu,
tuberculosis, etc.)
Ill children are not
permitted to return to care until 24 hours
after the last incidence of fever, vomiting,
or severe diarrhea without benefit of OTC
treatment, or 24 hours after prescribed
medical treatment has begun.
In general, if your child is
too sick to go outside and play, then your
child is too sick to attend childcare. |
